Involves all grades in a collaborative project aimed at displaying what
each class has learned through their intertidal investigations
Develop an area specific intertidal mural
Materials:
Any and all available art supplies! Paint, pastels, glitter, glue,
etc.
Paper, plywood or construction paper
Preparations:
Have mural paper up with intertidal zones already painted in as the
backdrop. The High School students can help with this stage. Include
specific characteristics, such as tide level, name of zone, etc.
Procedures:
Have students create their own animal or plant to put on the mural.
Encourage three dimensional animals. Help students decide which zone
the critter belongs in. The mural can be added to by students as they
discover more and more about the intertidal and it's inhabitants.
